When the morning bell of the Tang Dynasty rings, the twilight hues of Rome are dyeing the banks of the Tiber;

When camel bells echo along the Silk Road, merchant ships in the Mediterranean are also setting sail;

"Rome in the West, Chang'an in the East"—this ancient adage speaks of the most dazzling dual-city legend in human civilization.

To deeply experience traditional culture and historical relics, you can visit these attractions!

Terracotta Warriors: The Guard of China's First Emperor

Located in Xi'an, China, the Terracotta Warriors are one of the world's most famous archaeological discoveries. In 1974, local farmers accidentally unearthed them while digging a well.

These clay figures were built for Qin Shi Huang, China's first emperor, who unified the country and hoped to have an army protect him after death. Thus, thousands of soldiers, chariots, and horses were crafted into terracotta figures,

buried underground to guard him.

Three main pits:

· Pit 1: The largest, containing over 6,000 soldier figures, arranged in formation like a real army.

· Pit 2: Features infantry, cavalry, and chariots, with more complex formations.

· Pit 3: The smallest, likely the command center.

Each warrior is unique—facial features, hairstyles, and expressions vary. Originally, they held real weapons and were painted in vibrant colors, but after over 2,000 years, most pigments have faded.

Today, the Terracotta Warriors are hailed as the "Eighth Wonder of the World" and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you visit Xi'an, you must see this army that has stood silent for over two millennia.

Giant Wild Goose Pagoda: Xi'an's Millennial Buddhist Tower

The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is one of Xi'an's most iconic landmarks, with a history of over 1,300 years. Located within the Da Ci'en Temple complex, it was built to preserve Buddhist scriptures.

Why was it built?

In the 7th century, the renowned monk Xuanzang returned from India with a vast collection of Buddhist texts and statues. To safeguard these treasures, Emperor Gaozong of Tang ordered the pagoda's construction. Xuanzang himself translated scriptures here,

staying for 19 years.

Architectural features:· Height: 7 stories, 64 meters  Style: A classic Tang Dynasty brick pagoda, ancient and majestic     Climbing: Visitors can ascend to the top for panoramic views of Xi'an.

Shadow Puppetry: China's Ancient Fairytale on Screen

Imagine—a piece of animal hide, a lamp, and bamboo rods can bring mythical characters to life before your eyes!This is shadow puppetry, China's oldest form of cinema, with over 2,000 years of history. In Xi'an, you can still witness this magical art.

Performances involve artists manipulating colorful leather puppets behind a white screen with thin rods. When lit, the puppets' shadows dance, fight, and tell stories on the screen. The artists sing, recite,

and play gongs and drums, creating a lively spectacle!

Shadow puppetry is a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage

 Stories often adapt classics like "Journey to the West" and "Romance of the Three Kingdoms"

 Master puppeteers dedicate their lives to this craft, showcasing astonishing skill

Watching a shadow play is like stepping into the dreamscape of Chinese childhood.
