The 2026 China Tourism Industry Impact Cases Announced in Shiyan, Hubei

The 13th China Tourism Industry Development Annual Conference was held in Shiyan, Hubei Province, on October 18–19, 2026. The conference officially announced the “2026 China Tourism Industry Influential Cases,” covering eight areas, including digital and intelligent empowerment, green tourism, and improving the quality of consumption. Cultural and tourism projects from various regions, including Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Hebei, Gansu, and Ningxia, were selected, providing practical reference for the tourism industry.

The areas covered by these cases offer different perspectives for understanding the development of tourism projects. Digital and intelligent empowerment focuses on how technology can support operations and visitor experiences; green tourism concerns the relationship between tourism activities and the environment and natural resources; and improving the quality of consumption concerns whether tourism products and services can better meet consumer demand. The inclusion of all these areas in the cases suggests that, when drawing on project experience, industry professionals can consider multiple aspects, including operations, the environment, and the consumer experience.

For tourism project operators, the value of these cases as a reference needs to be applied to specific practices and the conditions under which they are suitable. For example, when studying cases involving digital and intelligent empowerment, operators can examine what business problems the technology addresses. When studying green tourism cases, they can consider how the relevant measures are integrated into day-to-day operations. When studying cases focused on improving the quality of consumption, they can assess how improvements to products and services respond to visitor needs. These questions can help turn case presentations into more specific business references.

The selection of projects from multiple regions also provides a starting point for comparing cultural and tourism practices in different areas. However, selection alone does not mean that the practices can be directly replicated, nor is it sufficient to draw conclusions about a project's visitor numbers, revenue, or profitability. Going forward, it will be worth examining publicly available information about the specific measures used in these cases, the conditions for their implementation, and their actual results. This can help determine which experiences are suitable for adoption and which practices depend on local resources and operating conditions.
