Zhangjiajie: See the “floating mountains” from Avatar

· What it is: China’s first national forest park, where thousands of stone pillars rise from the ground into the clouds

· Why foreigners love it: Because the mountains in the movie Avatar were inspired by this very place

· Three must-do things:

 1. Ride the Bailong Elevator——reach the mountaintop in 1 minute 58 seconds, racing up along the cliff face

 2. Walk the glass skywalk——beneath your feet is transparent glass, and below that is a deep abyss

 3. See Tianmen Cave——a huge hole opens in the mountain, like a gate to heaven

Fenghuang Ancient Town: Stilt houses over the river

· What it is: A thousand-year-old riverside town on the Tuojiang River, where wooden houses stand on stilts above the water

· Why foreigners love it: This place is still alive——people wash clothes by the river, and boatwomen sing mountain songs

· Three must-do things:

 1. Take a small boat ride on the Tuojiang River, passing beneath the stilt houses

 2. See the ancient town at night, when the lights make it look like a painting

 3. Get up early to see the morning mist over the river(6:30 in the morning, the most beautiful time)
