Xi'an Tour Routes

When the morning bells of the Great Tang rang,the twilight of Rome was turning the Tiber River red;

When camel bells echoed along the Silk Road,merchant ships on the Mediterranean were also raising their sails;

"Rome in the West,Chang'an in the East"——this ancient proverb tells the most brilliant tale of two cities in the history of human civilization.

To deeply experience traditional culture and historical relics,you may refer to these attractions!

Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor and Terracotta Warriors:The Guardian Army of China's First Emperor

The Terracotta Warriors are located in Xi'an,China,and are one of the most famous archaeological discoveries in the world. In 1974,local farmers accidentally discovered them while digging a well.

These terracotta figures were built for Qin Shi Huang. Qin Shi Huang was China's first emperor,who unified China and hoped to still have an army to protect him after death. Therefore,thousands of soldiers,chariots and horses were made into terracotta figures,

buried underground to guard him.

Three main pits:

· Pit 1:The largest,with more than 6000 soldier figures,arranged neatly like a real army.

· Pit 2:With infantry,cavalry and chariots,the formation is more complex.

· Pit 3:The smallest,possibly the command post.

Every Terracotta Warrior is unique——their appearances,hairstyles and expressions are all different. They originally held real weapons and were painted in bright colors,but after more than two thousand years,most of the colors have fallen off.

Today,the Terracotta Warriors are known as the "Eighth Wonder of the World",and have been listed by the United Nations as a World Cultural Heritage site. If you come to Xi'an,you must see this army that has remained silent for more than two thousand years with your own eyes.

Giant Wild Goose Pagoda:Xi'an's Thousand-Year-Old Buddhist Pagoda

The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is one of Xi'an's most famous landmarks,with a history of more than 1300 years. It is located inside Da Ci'en Temple and was built to preserve Buddhist scriptures.

Why was this pagoda built?

In the 7th century AD,the famous monk Xuanzang returned from India after seeking Buddhist scriptures,bringing back a large number of Buddhist scriptures and statues. To properly preserve these precious cultural relics,Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty ordered the construction of the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda. Xuanzang himself once translated Buddhist scriptures here,

staying for 19 years.

Architectural features:· Height:7 floors in total,64 meters high  Style:A typical Tang Dynasty pavilion-style brick pagoda,simple and solemn     Climbing the pagoda:Visitors can climb to the top of the pagoda and overlook the cityscape of Xi'an

Shadow Puppetry:An Ancient Chinese Fairy Tale in Light and Shadow

Imagine——a piece of animal hide,a lamp,and a few bamboo rods can bring mythical characters to life before your eyes!This is shadow puppetry,China's oldest form of cinema,with a history of more than 2000 years. In Xi'an,you can still see this magical art.

In a shadow puppet performance,artists stand behind a white screen and use thin rods to control colorful leather puppets. When the light shines,the shadows of the puppets dance,fight and tell stories on the screen. The artists manipulate the puppets while singing,

reciting lines,accompanied by gongs and drums,making it extremely lively!

Shadow puppetry is a United Nations Intangible Cultural Heritage

 Most stories are Chinese classics such as Journey to the West and Romance of the Three Kingdoms

 Old artisans devote their whole lives to this one craft,with astonishing skills

Watching a shadow puppet show is like stepping into the childhood dreams of the Chinese people.
