Add to cart

When the morning bells of the Tang Dynasty resound, the dusk of Rome dyes the Tiber River red;

When camel bells echo along the Silk Road, merchant ships in the Mediterranean also set sail;

'Rome in the West, Chang'an in the East'—this ancient proverb captures the most dazzling twin-city legend in human civilization.

To deeply experience traditional culture and historical relics, consider visiting these attractions!

Terracotta Army of Qin Shi Huang: The First Emperor of China's Guardian Troops

Located in Xi'an, China, the Terracotta Army is one of the world's most famous archaeological discoveries. In 1974, local farmers accidentally unearthed them while digging a well.

These terracotta figures were built for Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China. He unified the country and hoped to have an army protect him even in death. Thus, thousands of terracotta soldiers, chariots, and horses were crafted

and buried underground to guard him.

Three main pits:

· Pit 1: The largest, with over 6,000 soldier figures arranged like a real army.

· Pit 2: Features infantry, cavalry, and chariots in more complex formations.

· Pit 3: The smallest, likely the command center.

Each terracotta figure is unique—facial features, hairstyles, and expressions vary. They originally held real weapons and were painted in bright colors, but most pigments have faded over 2,000 years.

Today, the Terracotta Army is hailed as the 'Eighth Wonder of the World' and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you visit Xi'an, you must see this silent army that has stood for millennia.

Great Wild Goose Pagoda: Xi'an's Millennial Buddhist Pagoda

The Great Wild Goose Pagoda, one of Xi'an's most iconic landmarks, has stood for over 1,300 years. Located within the Da Ci'en Temple complex, it was built to preserve Buddhist scriptures.

Why was it built?

In the 7th century, the renowned monk Xuanzang returned from India with countless Buddhist texts and statues. To safeguard these treasures, Emperor Gaozong of Tang ordered the pagoda's construction. Xuanzang himself translated scriptures here

for 19 years.

Architectural features: · Height: 7 stories, 64 meters   Style: A classic Tang Dynasty brick pagoda, solemn and majestic      Climbing: Visitors can ascend to the top for panoramic views of Xi'an.

Shadow Puppetry: China's Ancient Fairytale on Screen

Imagine—a sheet of animal hide, a lamp, and bamboo rods bringing mythical characters to life before your eyes! This is shadow puppetry, China's oldest 'cinema' with over 2,000 years of history. In Xi'an, you can still witness this magical art.

Performers manipulate colorful leather puppets behind a white screen using thin rods. When lit, the puppets' shadows dance, fight, and tell stories. The artists sing, recite,

and perform to lively gong and drum music—a vibrant spectacle!

Shadow puppetry is a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage

Stories often adapt Chinese classics like 'Journey to the West' and 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms'

Master puppeteers dedicate their lives to this craft, showcasing astonishing skills

Watching a shadow play is like stepping into a childhood dream of ancient China.

Xi'an Museum: A Glimpse into the Millennial Ancient Capital

Want a quick immersion in Xi'an's history? Visit Xi'an Museum! This comprehensive museum complex combines galleries, ancient architecture, and gardens. Opened in 2007, it showcases Xi'an's glorious 13-dynasty legacy.

Three highlights:

Museum: Displays precious artifacts unearthed in Xi'an—from bronze ware to Tang tri-color pottery, spanning Zhou to Tang dynasties—each narrating the ancient capital's tales.

Small Wild Goose Pagoda: This 1,300-year-old pagoda (built 707 AD) predates its 'big brother' by 50 years. Having survived over 70 earthquakes, it's a true architectural marvel!

Garden area: A serene space where locals practice tai chi and sip tea, embracing slow living.

Xi'an Museum—where time travel becomes reality.
