Morning: Longmen Grottoes —— A Buddhist Art Treasury on the Cliffs
Itinerary: Depart from Luoyang city hotels at 8:00 AM, approximately 40 minutes by car to Longmen Grottoes. One of China's Four Great Grottoes, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000, it boasts over 2,300 caves and nearly 110,000 Buddha statues, stretching 1 km along both banks of the Yi River.
· Fengxian Temple · Vairocana Buddha: The absolute core of Longmen Grottoes! This 17.14-meter-tall statue, funded by Empress Wu Zetian, features serene and dignified expressions, hailed as the "Eastern Mona Lisa." Standing before it, you'll be deeply awed by its millennium-old solemnity.
· Ten Thousand Buddha Cave: Densely carved with 15,000 small Buddha statues, the smallest just 2 cm tall. Photography effects are stunning when light intersects.
